May 5th, 2015

Wow! We had A LOT going on these past few weeks. Here is a quick summary of what happened in April...

Writing- The second graders learned all about researching and writing an informative text. They chose a weather topic to write about and then researched away! Some of the possible weather topics were tornadoes, thunderstorms, and floods.

Reading- The students worked on comparing and contrasting two similar non-fiction texts. Over the course of the month we worked on picking out key details in non-fiction texts and comparing those details with similar non-fiction texts.

Math- We worked on more adding and subtracting 2- and 3- digit numbers and learned all about 3-d shapes. Below are pictures that shows  3-d shapes
the kids created out of marshmallows and toothpicks.
